Australian Branch The South Australian
Branch of the ACFS was formed in 1965. Since that time it has
developed into a strong and active group which advises and
assists government, business, sporting, cultural and education
organisations with matters concerning China. Within the

ACFS Tasmanian
Branch Tasmania established its ACFS branch in
1965. It has a particular interest in the presence and history
of the Chinese in Tasmania, especially those who came to the
north-east of the state as tin miners in the 1870's. The
Tasmanian Branch also has a sister-state relationship with
Fujian Province in China. The website can be found at

ACFS Queensland
Branch ACFS Queensland
Branch has had a heavy involvement in the twinning of cities
between Australia and China as well as cultural exchanges
between the two countries. Chinese language classes have
received a lot of attention and the branch newsletters can be

ACFS VIctorian
Branch With its
office in Flinders Lane in Melbourne the ACFS VIctorian Branch
is extremely active and well supported. A committee of 17
guides the Society and organises free film evenings, cultural
performances and exhibitions, Chinese language classes and
tours to China. Within the website is an excellent series of

ACFS West
Australian Branch
The
West Australian Branch was founded in 1972 and occupies rooms
at Australia Asia House in Stirling Street Perth. The branch
has been very active in sending teachers to China and supports
educational projects there and in Australia. Close ties are
maintained with the Chinese Consulate in Perth. Full

ACFS New South Wales Inc New South Wales is
the home of one of the oldest societies in Australia. It
is very active with a comprehensive website and a heavy
involvement in monthly meetings and overseas tours. ACFS NSW has
a city office which is constantly manned. The website address

ACFS ACT Inc ACFS ACT is also very active in
promoting friendship and understanding between Australian and
Chinese people. It publishes a regular bulletin and is headed
by a committe of twelve. ACT does not have a website, but
